Here’s a story about the Egyptian creation myth and DUET FOR ONE.
Reading sustains and expands me. It is one of my great pleasures to share special books with you.
I am just finishing Booker Prize Winner Samantha Harvey’s ORBITAL.
This stunningly written, short book takes place in a space capsule containing astronauts from different countries orbiting the earth. Their interior lives and the view out the window makes for astonishing reading. Here’s a paragraph I particularly loved:

I had a wonderful time interviewing Paul Lisicky this week about his memoir SONG SO WILD AND BLUE, which he crafted around Joni Mitchell’s work. I’m also delighted to recommend this book.

P.S. ICYMI, here is last week’s Substack newsletter, “Egypt.”
Thank you, Martha. Especially for the rally information.
A stupid coup, indeed.
