To all of you who showed up and listened in and sent love out into the world during THREE MUSES’ launch week, heartfelt thanks. I am completely overwhelmed by your support, and can only wish you the same in whatever you endeavor. No matter what, keep reading!
If you have time tonight at 7 PM Eastern, poet and memoirist Sharon Charde and I would love for you to join us at a virtual event at Oblong Book Store. Sign-in information is here.
I loved being in conversation with the amazing Michelle Brafman, teacher, mentor, writer and friend at Politics & Prose last week. Michelle has a new book coming out next spring, so look for it! ICYMI, you can watch the video of our event here.
It was an incredible sensation to be among family and friends to share THREE MUSES, which has been more than a decade in gestation. One moral of this story is to never say never.
The day after launch, I taped an interview with A Mighty Blaze podcast. I also had fun being interviewed by Rabbi Sam Cohon for the Too Jewish Podcast [last ten minutes or so of the show] and G.P. Gottlieb’s New Books Network Podcast.
I was advised to go all-in during launch week, and I took that advice seriously!
A bunch of written interviews about THREE MUSES came out in The Millions, Debutiful, Washington Independent Review of Books, My Book, Deborah Kalb’s blog, Campaign for the American Reader, and Writers Digest. In addition to the generosity of these interviewers, they posed challenging questions that were eye opening for me.
The next stop was the Center for Fiction in Brooklyn with the wonderful writer, Jai Chakrabarti. (I’ll let you know when the video of our event is uploaded.) Jai has a new book of short stories coming out in February, so watch for it!
The Center for Fiction is a gorgeous facility, replete with bookstore, library, reading and meeting space, event space, and a coffee/wine bar. If I lived nearby, I don’t think you could tear me away.
For those of you who celebrate, and those of you who don’t, I wish you a Sweet, Healthy New Year.
Parting advice: Every launch needs a cake!
Love, Martha
